Description

Spooky, delicious, and easy to make, these Classic Halloween Brookies combine the best of fudgy brownies and chewy chocolate chip cookies, perfect for your Halloween party or a cozy autumn treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Layer:

1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup (42g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Cookie Layer:

1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar

1/4 cup (50g) packed light brown sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cups (150g) all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup (170g) chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or a mix)

1/2 cup Halloween-themed sprinkles

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment, leaving overhang.

2. For the Brownie Layer: whisk melted butter and sugar; whisk in eggs and vanilla. Add cocoa, flour, baking powder, salt; mix just to combine. Spread into pan.

3. For the Cookie Layer: cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt; add to wet and mix just to combine. Stir in chips and sprinkles.

4. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over brownie layer and gently spread to cover.

5. Bake 30–35 min, until edges are set and a toothpick in the brownie portion comes out with moist crumbs.

6. Cool completely in pan on a rack before lifting and cutting for clean squares.

Notes

Make-ahead friendly: store airtight at room temp 3–4 days.

Press extra Halloween candies on top before baking for more color.

Do not overbake for fudgiest texture.
