A spooktacular twist on a classic Italian appetizer, this Halloween Caprese Salad features eerie colors perfect for your festive gathering. Easy to prepare and a delight for ghoulish guests, it’s a must-try!


Ingredients

Scale

8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained

2 ripe avocados, diced

1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved (orange and black heirloom varieties preferred)

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn or thinly sliced

2 tbsp balsamic glaze

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

1. Pat dry the mozzarella balls and slice them in half if desired.

2. Dice the ripe avocados into bite-sized pieces.

3. Halve the cherry tomatoes; arrange colors for a Halloween effect if using varieties.

4. In a large bowl, gently combine mozzarella, avocados, and cherry tomatoes.

5. Drizzle with olive oil, then balsamic glaze.

6. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

7. Garnish generously with fresh basil. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra spooky presentation, use mini ghost-shaped cutters on thick mozzarella slices.

Add a few black olives for more contrast.
