Description
Indulge in the rich fudgy delight of Pumpkin Patch Brownies a perfect autumn treat with a spiced pumpkin swirl and beautiful marbled look.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter melted
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
2. Whisk melted butter with granulated sugar until smooth.
3. Add eggs one at a time whisking well after each then stir in vanilla.
4. In another bowl whisk flour cocoa baking powder and salt.
5. Fold dry ingredients into the wet just until combined—do not overmix.
6. In a small bowl mix pumpkin puree brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice.
7. Spread about two thirds of brownie batter in the pan. Dollop pumpkin mixture over the top then spoon remaining batter over.
8. Using a knife or skewer gently swirl to create a marbled effect.
9. Bake 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
10. Cool completely in the pan then cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For a festive finish dust with powdered sugar or a pinch of cinnamon.
Flavor improves by the next day—store covered once cooled.
