Classic Savory Turkey & Herb Stuffing, a timeless dish perfect for holiday gatherings. Flavored with fresh herbs, vegetables, and savory turkey broth, this stuffing is a comforting side dish.
Ingredients
1 lb stale bread, cubed
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups chopped yellow onion
2 cups chopped celery
1 cup chopped carrots
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 cup fresh sage, chopped
2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 cups turkey or chicken broth
2 large eggs, beaten
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet; toast 10–15 minutes until lightly golden. Set aside.
3. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, and carrots; cook 8–10 minutes until softened.
4. Stir in garlic, parsley, sage, and thyme; cook 2 minutes until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper.
5. In a large bowl, combine toasted bread cubes with the sautéed vegetables.
6. Pour in broth and beaten eggs; mix gently until evenly moistened.
7. Transfer to the prepared baking dish; cover with foil.
8. Bake 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake 20–30 minutes more, until the top is golden and crisp.
9. Serve hot alongside your holiday turkey.
Notes
For extra savoriness, add cooked crumbled sausage.
Prefer a moister stuffing? Stir in an additional 1/2 cup broth.
