Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil 1 lb ground beef 1 large onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce 1/2 cup uncooked white rice 1 cup beef broth 1 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1/4 tsp black pepper 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste) 1 medium head green cabbage, cored and chopped
Instructions
1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. 2. Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, uncooked rice, beef broth, paprika, oregano, pepper, and salt. 3. Add chopped cabbage to the slow cooker and stir gently to combine everything. Ensure cabbage is mostly submerged in the sauce. 4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the cabbage is tender and the rice is cooked through. 5. Stir well before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
