Equipment

  • oven
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper (optional)
  • small oven-safe dish (alternative)
  • sharp knife
  • serving platter

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 8-ounce wheel of Brie cheese good quality, double or triple cream recommended
  • ½ cup fig jam or preserves
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional

For Serving

  • Crackers
  • baguette slices
  • apple slices
  • pear slices

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper if desired.
  • Unwrap the Brie and place it on the prepared baking sheet or in an oven-safe dish; the rind is edible and helps the cheese hold its shape.
  • Optionally, lightly score the top of the Brie in a crosshatch pattern to help the jam seep in and promote even melting.
  • Spoon the fig jam generously over the scored surface of the Brie, spreading it evenly.
  • If using, sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts evenly over the jam.

Baking & Serving

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the Brie is soft and gooey and the jam is bubbling.
  • Remove from the oven, let it rest for a minute or two, and then transfer to a serving platter.
  • Serve immediately with crackers, baguette, apple, or pear slices.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can warm the fig jam slightly before spreading it over the brie. If you don't have fig jam, apricot or raspberry preserves also work wonderfully. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated gently, but it's best served fresh out of the oven.
