Classic Bang Bang Salmon

This recipe provides two methods to cook salmon fillets which are then topped with a creamy, sweet, and spicy Bang Bang sauce. It's a quick and flavorful dish perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients
  

Salmon

  • 1.5 - 2 lbs salmon fillets skin on or off

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise full-fat recommended
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 teaspoons sriracha adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Seasoning & Cooking

  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil

Optional Garnish

  • Sesame seeds
  • chopped green onions
  • fresh cilantro

Instructions
 

Prep Salmon

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a skillet with oil for pan-frying. Pat salmon dry and season with salt and pepper.

Make Bang Bang Sauce

  • Whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey/maple syrup, and garlic powder until smooth, then adjust to taste.

Cook Salmon (Baking Method)

  • Place seasoned salmon on parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily.

Cook Salmon (Pan-Frying Method)

  • Pan-fry salmon, skin-side down if applicable, for 4-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.

Sauce It Up & Serve

  • Generously spoon or brush Bang Bang sauce over the cooked salmon. Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, or cilantro if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust sriracha in the Bang Bang sauce to your preferred level of spiciness. For crispier skin, pan-frying is recommended. Ensure salmon is fully patted dry for best results, especially when pan-frying.
