Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • large skillet

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage, crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Optional

  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.

Cooking the Sausage

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it up as it browns. Drain off excess grease and let the sausage cool slightly.

Assembling the Rolls

  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of cooked sausage onto the wide end of each triangle, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Baking

  • Starting from the wide end, roll up each crescent tightly and place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. For a golden finish, brush with a beaten egg wash if desired. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, make sure to drain the sausage thoroughly to prevent soggy crescent rolls. You can customize the cheese based on your preference, and a little hot sauce can add a nice kick to the finished rolls.
