Instructions

  • Grease and flour your donut pan, then preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a separate medium bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.
  • Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Melt butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan, then stir in heavy cream and simmer for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  • Once donuts are completely cool, dip each into the warm caramel glaze, allowing excess to drip off before placing them back on the wire rack to set.

Notes

To ensure even baking, do not overfill the donut cavities. For best results, ensure donuts are completely cool before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting.
