Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5-inch loaf pan by greasing and flouring it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, ¾ cup granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then stir in the milk and vegetable oil.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing just until moistened to form a thick batter without overmixing.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a wooden skewer comes out clean.
  • While the bread bakes, melt ¼ cup unsalted butter in a small bowl and whisk together ½ cup granulated sugar and 1 tbsp ground cinnamon in another bowl for the topping.
  • After baking, let the bread cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then invert it onto a wire rack.
  • While the bread is still warm, generously brush all its sides with the melted butter.
  • Immediately roll or sprinkle the entire loaf with the cinnamon sugar mixture, pressing it gently to adhere.
  • Allow the Cinnamon Donut Bread to cool completely on the wire rack before slicing and serving.

Notes

For an extra boost of cinnamon flavor, you can add a pinch more cinnamon to the bread batter. Ensure the bread is fully cooled before slicing for the best texture.
