  • Transfer the dried peas to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional cayenne pepper; toss to coat evenly.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) if it requires preheating.
  • Arrange the seasoned peas in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes, until golden brown, crunchy, and slightly shriveled, monitoring closely to prevent burning.
  • Transfer the crispy black eyed peas to a paper towel-lined plate to cool for a few minutes before serving immediately.

Notes
