  • 2-3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet (0.6 oz) au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup jarred pepperoncini peppers and optional 1-2 tbsp of their juice

  • Place the chicken breasts or thighs in a single layer at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Evenly sprinkle the entire packet of Ranch seasoning mix and au jus gravy mix over the chicken.
  • Cut the butter stick into a few pats and place them on top of the chicken and seasonings.
  • Scatter the pepperoncini peppers, and a splash of their juice if desired, over everything.
  • Cover and cook for 6-8 hours on low, or 3-4 hours on high, until the chicken is very tender and easily shreds.
  • Once cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker, tossing it with the delicious sauce.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, keeping in mind the packets usually provide sufficient flavor.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the pepperoncini peppers. This dish is excellent served over rice, noodles, or in sandwiches.
