  • 1 pound large or colossal shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on or off
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter optional
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • red pepper flakes optional, for a kick
  • dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)

  • Thaw frozen shrimp, pat dry, and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add minced garlic to the pan and cook for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Cook seasoned shrimp in a single layer for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Remove the pan from heat; squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and stir in oregano or Italian seasoning.
  • Transfer shrimp to serving plates and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as it can become tough. The optional red pepper flakes add a nice kick, so adjust to your preference. Serve immediately for best results.
