These Classic Holiday Cheese Balls are a festive and flavorful appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings. Softened cream cheese is mixed with sharp cheddar, pecans, and seasonings, then shaped and coated in fresh parsley.

Ingredients
  

Cheese Ball Base

  • 2 packages cream cheese (8-ounce), softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Coating

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh parsley (for coating)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add cheddar cheese, pecans, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder to the bowl.
  • Mix all ingredients until well combined and smooth, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

Shaping & Chilling

  • Shape the mixture into one or two balls using your hands.
  • Wrap the cheese ball(s) in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.

Serving

  • Just before serving, unwrap the chilled cheese ball and roll it in finely chopped fresh parsley until evenly coated.
  • Serve the coated cheese ball on a platter with crackers, pita chips, vegetable sticks, or mini bread slices.

Notes

For best results, allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature for about 30 minutes before mixing. You can make these cheese balls ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days before coating and serving.
