Equipment

  • Oven
  • Paper towels
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk
  • Oven-safe skillet

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Salmon Fillets skin-on, cut into 4-ounce portions
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste

Optional additions

  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) if using and pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  • Season both sides of the salmon with salt and pepper.

Make the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • Whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and optional grated ginger in a small bowl. Set aside.

Cook the Salmon

  • Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear salmon skin-side down for 3-4 minutes until crispy and golden, then flip.
  • Pour half of the honey garlic sauce over the salmon, ensuring it's coated.

Finish Cooking

  • For stovetop, cook for 4-7 more minutes, spooning sauce occasionally, until salmon is done.
  • For oven, transfer skillet to preheated oven and bake for 6-10 minutes until salmon flakes easily.

Serve

  • Remove from heat and let rest for a minute or two.
  • Drizzle with remaining sauce and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired, then serve immediately.

Notes

For crisper skin, ensure the salmon is very dry before searing. Do not overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary.
