  • 1 1/2 cups good quality chocolate chips a mix of milk and dark chocolate recommended for rich pools of chocolate

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined; do not overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  • Drop large spoonfuls of dough (2-3 tablespoons each) onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving a few inches between them; shape into taller mounds for thicker cookies.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft to ensure a gooey interior.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
