  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Ingredients

Fresh Shrimp

  • 1.5 lbs Fresh Shrimp Large or jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined (tail on or off)

Garlic & Herbs

  • 4-5 cloves Fresh garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish and flavor)
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano or Italian seasoning

Cheese & Flavor Boosters

  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated is best!)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

Seasoning Essentials

  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Thaw any frozen shrimp completely, then pat them very dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • In a large bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, dried oregano or Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  • Add the dry shrimp to the flavor mixture and toss gently until each piece is evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese and toss again until the shrimp is fully coated with the cheesy mixture.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  • Arrange the shrimp in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is a little space between each piece for even cooking.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the shrimp are no longer clear, turn pink, and are cooked through. Avoid overcooking to prevent tough shrimp; the garlic Parmesan coating should be golden and fragrant.

Serving

  • Remove the shrimp from the oven, garnish with fresh chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

To prevent overcooked and rubbery shrimp, watch them closely during baking as cooking times can vary based on shrimp size and oven performance. Freshly grated Parmesan cheese enhances the flavor significantly.
