Instructions

Cooking Instructions

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat, then add olive oil until shimmering.
  • Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot pan and press gently to ensure even contact.
  • Cook undisturbed for 4-6 minutes until the salmon color changes and the skin is golden and crispy.
  • Flip the salmon to the flesh side and cook for another 2-4 minutes until desired doneness is reached.
  • Transfer the cooked salmon to a plate and let it rest while you prepare the garlic butter sauce.
  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low and melt the unsalted butter.
  • Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Remove the skillet from heat, stir in fresh lemon juice, and optionally, chopped fresh parsley.
  • Drizzle the warm lemon garlic butter generously over the rested salmon fillets and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a sprig of fresh thyme or rosemary to the pan while the butter is melting.
