Ingredients
  

For the Salmon

  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillets skin on or off
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp cumin
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 lime cut into wedges (for serving)

For the Tacos

  • 12 small corn or flour tortillas
  • Your favorite taco toppings e.g., cabbage slaw, avocado crema, pico de gallo, mango salsa, pickled red onions, fresh cilantro

Instructions
 

Prepare the Salmon

  • Pat salmon fillets dry and mix chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the salmon fillets.

Cook the Salmon

  • Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add salmon fillets and cook for 4-6 minutes per side until cooked through and easily flaked.

Flake the Salmon

  • Remove cooked salmon from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes.
  • Using a fork, gently flake the salmon into bite-sized pieces, discarding skin if desired.

Warm the Tortillas

  • While salmon rests, warm tortillas in a dry skillet for 15-20 seconds per side, or use a microwave or open flame.

Assemble the Tacos

  • Fill each warm tortilla with flaked salmon and your chosen taco toppings.
  • Squeeze a fresh lime wedge over each taco just before serving for a burst of citrusy brightness.

Notes

For extra flavor, lightly char the tortillas over an open flame. You can customize your tacos with a variety of toppings, such as cabbage slaw, avocado crema, pico de gallo, mango salsa, or pickled red onions. Fresh cilantro and lime wedges are highly recommended for serving to add brightness and a zesty finish to your tacos.
