Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add olive oil or butter.
Sauté diced bell peppers for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
Crack eggs into the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until whites are set and yolks are runny; alternatively, whisk and scramble eggs with peppers.
Dollop marinara sauce over the cooked eggs.
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and arrange pepperoni slices on top.
Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly, reducing heat to low.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serve immediately, with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the marinara sauce.
