  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 packet (1 oz / 28g) taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • Shredded lettuce for topping
  • Diced tomatoes for topping
  • Shredded cheese (Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend), for topping
  • Salsa for topping
  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt for topping
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole for topping
  • Black beans (rinsed and drained) optional topping
  • Corn (frozen, canned, or fresh) optional topping
  • Sliced jalapeƱos (fresh or pickled) optional topping
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped optional topping
  • Crushed tortilla chips or strips optional topping

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart, then drain excess fat.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and water, bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 5-7 minutes until liquid evaporates.
  • While meat simmers, prepare and divide cooked rice among 4-6 bowls.
  • Spoon the seasoned taco meat over the rice in each bowl.
  • Arrange desired toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and avocado over the meat and rice.
  • Serve your flavorful and satisfying Taco Rice Bowl immediately.
