  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowls
  • Spatula or offset spatula

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 24 ounces Milk Chocolate high-quality
  • 1/2 cup Freeze-dried strawberries sliced
  • 1/4 cup Valentine's Day sprinkles (red, pink, white)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prepare your surface.

Melt the Chocolate

  • Melt the milk chocolate using either a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
  • For the double boiler, simmer water in a saucepan and place a heat-proof bowl over it with the chocolate, stirring until melted. For the microwave, heat chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth.

Assemble the Bark

  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly into a thin, ¼-inch layer.
  • Immediately sprinkle the sliced freeze-dried strawberries and Valentine's Day sprinkles over the melted chocolate.

Chill and Serve

  • Chill the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes until the chocolate is firm and snaps cleanly.
  • Once thoroughly chilled, break the chocolate slab into irregular pieces and serve or package as a gift.

Notes

Ensure your chocolate is high-quality for the best melt and flavor. When melting chocolate, avoid getting any water into it, as this can cause it to seize. Get creative with your toppings! You can add chopped nuts, sea salt, or other candies to customize your bark. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
