Pizza Dough

  • 1 lb pre-made fresh or refrigerated dough ball approx. 1 lb

Pizza Sauce

  • 0.5 cup marinara or classic pizza sauce

Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

  • 1.5 cups low-moisture, part-skim

Pepperoni

  • 0.5 cup slices

Mushrooms

  • 0.25 cup sliced pre-cooked if fresh

Bell Pepper

  • 0.25 cup thinly sliced any color

Olive Oil

  • 1 tsp for parchment optional

Parchment Paper

  • 1 large sheet

  • 6 quart oval

  • Line your 6-quart oval slow cooker with parchment paper, allowing overhang to easily remove the pizza; lightly spray the parchment with olive oil if desired.
  • Transfer the pizza dough into the slow cooker, pressing and stretching it to fit the shape and creating a slight lip around the edges.
  • Spread 1/2 cup of pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  • Sprinkle 1.5 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  • Arrange 1/2 cup pepperoni, 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms, and 1/4 cup thinly sliced bell pepper over the cheese.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 2-3 hours (or HIGH for 1-1.5 hours) until the crust is cooked and cheese is bubbly.
  • For a crispy crust, carefully transfer the pizza to a baking sheet and broil on high for 2-5 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Ensure your slow cooker is large enough to accommodate the pizza dough. For best results, pre-cook fresh mushrooms to prevent excess moisture. Keep a close eye on the pizza during the optional broiling step to avoid burning the crust and toppings.
