Equipment

  • Oven
  • Small bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Large skillet or pot
  • Whisk

Ingredients

Garlic Bread Bowls

  • 6-8 Small, round crusty bread rolls or mini artisan loaves
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter for garlic butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced for garlic butter

Creamy Chicken Alfredo

  • 2 cups Cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1.5 cups Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Freshly grated Parmesan cheese plus extra for garnish
  • 1-2 cloves Garlic, minced for alfredo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter for alfredo sauce
  • 1 tablespoon All-purpose flour or cornstarch optional, for thickening
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Bread Bowls

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Carefully cut a circle around the top of each bread roll and hollow out the center, saving the removed bread.
  • Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a small bowl, stir in 3 minced garlic cloves, and brush the inside and outside of the hollowed-out bread bowls with the garlic butter.
  • Place buttered bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until lightly golden. Set aside.

Make the Alfredo Sauce

  • In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1-2 minced garlic cloves and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Whisk in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth, thickening with a flour or cornstarch slurry if desired. Season with salt and pepper.

Assemble and Serve

  • Stir the cooked chicken into the alfredo sauce and heat through gently.
  • Spoon the warm chicken alfredo mixture generously into each toasted garlic bread bowl.
  • Optionally, sprinkle extra Parmesan and bake for 3-5 minutes until melted and bubbly. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra crispy bread bowl, you can lightly toast the removed bread pieces alongside the bowls to make croutons for a garnish.
