Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  • In a bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and honey (if using).
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  • Once done, shred the chicken in the sauce and stir to combine.

Serving

  • Serve over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for added nutrition. For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the teriyaki sauce. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and add it during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
