  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese plus more for serving
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped (for garnish, optional)

  • Clean and devein the shrimp, then gather all necessary ingredients for preparation.
  • Boil salted water and cook fettuccine until al dente, then drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet, then sauté shrimp in batches until pink and opaque; remove and set aside.
  • Melt butter in the same skillet, cook minced garlic until fragrant, then add heavy cream and simmer, stirring constantly.
  • Whisk Parmesan into the sauce until smooth, adjust consistency with pasta water, season, then add fettuccine and shrimp, tossing to coat; garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, do not overcrowd the skillet when cooking shrimp; cook in batches if needed. Adjust the sauce consistency with reserved pasta water as desired.
