Equipment

  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Spoon
  • Small spatula
  • Fork or piping bag

Ingredients

Pretzel Trees

  • 1 bag (12 oz) pretzel sticks
  • 10 oz green candy melts
  • 2 oz white candy melts (or an additional 2 oz green candy melts, if preferred)
  • Assorted sprinkles (red, green, white, silver)
  • Edible glitter (gold or silver)
  • Small star-shaped candies (yellow or white)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.

Melting & Forming

  • Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Arrange pretzel sticks on the parchment paper to form Christmas tree shapes, using a vertical stick for the trunk and shorter, overlapping horizontal sticks for branches.

Decorating & Setting

  • Generously coat the pretzel trees with melted green candy, ensuring all pretzels are covered and gaps are filled.
  • While the candy is still wet, sprinkle with assorted sprinkles and edible glitter for sparkle.
  • (Optional) Melt white candy melts and drizzle thin lines over the trees to create a garland effect.
  • Gently press a small star-shaped candy at the top of each tree.
  • Chill the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes until the candy is completely set and firm.
  • Once firm, carefully peel the trees from the parchment paper and arrange them on a platter to serve.

Notes

For best results, work quickly when decorating the trees as the candy melts can set relatively fast. If the green candy starts to harden, you can microwave it again for a few seconds to soften it. Ensure the parchment paper is laid flat to prevent the candy from seeping underneath the pretzels and making them difficult to remove.
