Equipment

  • Small skewers or toothpicks
  • Serving platter

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes (about 2 cups), red
  • 8 oz small mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves green
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup candied walnuts roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary finely chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Thoroughly wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
  • If using, prepare or chop the candied walnuts as specified.

Assembly

  • Thread one cherry tomato, one basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball onto each skewer, repeating if the skewer allows.
  • Arrange the assembled skewers on a serving platter.

Finishing Touches

  • Sprinkle dried cranberries and chopped candied walnuts evenly over the skewers.
  • Drizzle balsamic glaze artfully over all the skewers and garnish with finely chopped fresh rosemary, if desired.
  • Serve immediately or within 2-3 hours for optimal freshness.

Notes

These skewers are best enjoyed fresh to maintain the texture of the basil and mozzarella. For a pre-prepped option, assemble the skewers and add the glaze, cranberries, walnuts, and rosemary just before serving.
