Equipment

  • Oven
  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Large microwave-safe bowl
  • Whisk
  • Wire rack

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (2 sticks), melted
  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 4 Large Eggs at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ¼ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Red Food Coloring (liquid or gel)
  • 1 teaspoon White Vinegar

Optional Add-in

  • 1 cup Mini Chocolate Chips (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it, or lining it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter, then stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.

Mixing Wet and Dry Ingredients

  • Whisk in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next; then stir in the vanilla extract, red food coloring, and white vinegar until the mixture is uniform and vibrantly colored.
  • In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix to prevent tough brownies.

Baking and Cooling

  • If desired, gently fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs but not wet batter, ensuring a fudgy texture.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool completely on a wire rack before cutting, which allows them to set properly and enhances their fudgy texture.

Notes

For an extra tangy kick, consider adding a cream cheese swirl on top of the brownie batter before baking. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother, more emulsified batter. Do not overbake the brownies, as this will result in a dry texture instead of fudgy. The residual heat will continue to cook them as they cool.
