  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup water or milk

  • 1 tsp honey or brown sugar optional
  • 1 tbsp fruit jam or mashed fresh fruit e.g., berries, banana

Instructions
 

Cooking Instructions

  • Combine oats, water or milk, and salt in a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid is mostly absorbed and the oats are creamy.
  • Stir in honey or brown sugar if desired.
  • Remove from heat and transfer the porridge to a bowl.
  • Swirl in the fruit jam or mashed fresh fruit before serving.

Notes

For a creamier porridge, use milk instead of water. Adjust the amount of sweetener and fruit to your taste.
