  • 1 lb Mixed Mushrooms shiitake, cremini, oyster, or button mushrooms

  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil

  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds

Preparation

  • Gently wipe the mushrooms clean with a damp cloth and slice larger ones into bite-sized pieces, removing tough shiitake stems.

Cooking

  • In a small bowl, whisk together miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, grated ginger, and minced garlic to create the miso glaze.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then sauté the prepared mushrooms for 5-7 minutes until browned, cooking in batches if needed.
  • Reduce heat to medium, pour the miso glaze over the mushrooms, and toss to coat, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the glaze slightly thickens.

Serving

  • Remove from heat, drizzle with sesame oil, toss, and garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes with the miso glaze for a subtle heat. You can also customize the mushroom variety to your preference, ensuring a good mix for texture.
