Equipment

  • paper towels

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound large or colossal shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4-5 garlic, minced cloves
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced plus extra wedges for serving
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Peel and devein the shrimp, then pat them dry and season generously with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter, and sauté the minced garlic and optionally red pepper flakes until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until opaque and slightly curled, cooking in batches if necessary.
  • Remove from heat, then stir in lemon juice and parsley, tossing to coat the shrimp, and serve immediately with extra lemon.

Notes

Ensure not to overcook the shrimp, as it can become tough quickly. The red pepper flakes add a nice kick, but can be omitted for a milder dish.
