  • 1 pound raw shrimp peeled and deveined (medium to large)
  • 4-6 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 1/2 to 1 lemon for juice and optional zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Cooking Steps

  • Peel and devein the shrimp, then pat them dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with butter or olive oil.
  • Cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque, then remove and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium, then sauté the minced garlic in the same pan for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  • Return the shrimp to the pan, add red pepper flakes and lemon juice, and toss for 30 seconds.
  • Remove from heat, stir in parsley, taste for seasoning, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of lemon zest along with the juice. This dish pairs well with a side of steamed green beans or a simple salad.
