Equipment

  • Oven
  • Mini Muffin Tin
  • Sharp Knife
  • Cookie Cutter

Ingredients

Main

  • 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry
  • 4 oz Brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup cranberry sauce or jam
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lightly flour a clean surface and unfold the thawed puff pastry, gently rolling it to smooth creases and expand it to about a 10x10 inch square.
  • Cut the pastry into 12-16 squares or circles using a sharp knife or cookie cutter, then press each piece into the cups of a mini muffin tin.

Assembly and Baking

  • Place a small cube of Brie cheese into the bottom of each pastry-lined cup.
  • Top the Brie with about a teaspoon of cranberry sauce and sprinkle fresh orange zest over the cranberry in each bite.
  • Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up and the Brie is melted and bubbly.

Finishing Touches

  • Let the bites cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes before carefully removing them.
  • Garnish each warm bite with a sprinkle of chopped pistachios before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure your puff pastry is thoroughly thawed but still cold before handling. If you don't have a mini muffin tin, you can bake these on a baking sheet, but they might not hold their shape as well; in that case, fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a more enclosed bite.
