Equipment

  • large rimmed baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • small bowl
  • whisk
  • medium bowls

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak cut into 1-inch bites
  • 1 pound asparagus trimmed

Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce optional
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • red pepper flakes optional
  • fresh parsley chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, Worcestershire sauce (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  • In a medium bowl, toss the steak bites with half of the seasoning mixture until well coated.
  • In a separate medium bowl, toss the trimmed asparagus with the remaining seasoning mixture until gently coated.

Cooking

  • Spread the seasoned steak bites and asparagus in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
  • Roast for 10-15 minutes, or until the steak bites reach your desired doneness and the asparagus is tender-crisp.

Serving

  • Remove the pan from the oven. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, do not overcrowd the baking sheet, as this can steam the food instead of roasting it. Use two pans if necessary for even cooking.
