Main Ingredients

  • 0.5 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 4 oz Tortilla Chips

  • 0.25 cup Diced Onion
  • 1 clove Minced Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Taco Seasoning
  • 0.25 cup Salsa
  • 0.5 Sliced Jalapeño optional

For Serving

  • Sour Cream for serving
  • Fresh Cilantro for serving, chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a skillet, brown ground beef, then add diced onion and minced garlic and cook until softened; drain excess fat.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and salsa with the beef mixture and cook for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.

Assembly and Baking

  • Layer half of the tortilla chips, beef mixture, and cheese on the baking sheet, then repeat with remaining ingredients and add jalapeño if desired.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the chips are lightly golden.

Serving

  • Remove from oven, let cool for a minute, then top with sour cream and cilantro before serving immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, use a homemade taco seasoning blend. Adjust the amount of jalapeño to your spice preference, or omit it for a milder dish. These nachos are best enjoyed fresh.
