  • 1 lb large or colossal shrimp peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or olive oil)
  • 4 garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more, to taste)
  • 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth (or dry white wine)
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Thaw frozen shrimp completely, then pat them thoroughly dry and season with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque; cook in batches if needed.
  • Stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in broth or wine, simmer for 1-2 minutes, scraping up browned bits, until the liquid slightly reduces.
  • Remove from heat, squeeze in lemon juice, and stir in chopped parsley before serving immediately.
