  • 2-3 tablespoons hot honey (store-bought or homemade)

  • flaky sea salt Small pinch
  • Fresh basil or mint leaves finely chopped or whole, for garnish (optional)
  • Crusty bread, crackers, or pita chips for serving

  • If your ricotta is watery, drain it in a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth for 15-30 minutes to thicken.
  • In a medium bowl, whip the ricotta gently with a fork or small whisk until it is smooth and light.
  • Stir in a pinch of black pepper and a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt, then taste and adjust the seasonings.
  • Transfer the whipped ricotta to a shallow serving bowl or platter and spread it out slightly.
  • Generously drizzle the hot honey over the top of the ricotta.
  • Optionally, scatter fresh basil or mint leaves and a final sprinkle of flaky sea salt over the dip.
  • Serve immediately with crusty bread, crackers, or pita chips.

Notes

For best results, make sure your ricotta is well-drained to achieve the creamiest texture. Adjust the amount of hot honey to your preferred level of spiciness.
