Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Shrimp Fresh or frozen, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Unsalted
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic Freshly minced
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/4 cup Chicken or Vegetable Broth
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed

Seasonings & Garnish

  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional

  • Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley Chopped, for topping

Instructions

Instructions

  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season them lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink; remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside, cooking in batches if necessary.
  • Lower the heat to medium, add butter to the same skillet, and once melted, cook minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it; stir in paprika, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes (if desired) for another 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet, and bring to a gentle simmer; stir in the heavy cream and return to a simmer, cooking for 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce slightly.
  • Reduce heat to low, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth, and add the fresh lemon juice; return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, toss gently to coat, and garnish generously with fresh chopped parsley before serving immediately.

Notes

Do not overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery. Ensure the garlic does not burn to prevent a bitter taste. This dish is excellent served with pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
