  • Small Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Fork

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon fillets about 6 oz each, skin on or off, wild-caught if possible
  • 2 lemons one thinly sliced, one for juice
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • red pepper flakes Optional: a pinch for a subtle kick

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, sea salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  • Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and pour the lemon-dill mixture evenly over each fillet.
  • Arrange thin lemon slices directly on top of and around the salmon fillets.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
  • Carefully transfer to serving plates, garnish with extra fresh dill if desired, and enjoy immediately.

Notes

For best results, use fresh dill. Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference. If salmon skin is on, it will become crispy during baking. Wild-caught salmon typically has a richer flavor and better nutritional profile.
