Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 oz cold-smoked salmon finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp capers drained and roughly chopped
  • 1/4 small red onion very finely minced
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • cayenne pepper optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened at room temperature before you begin.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise, and beat until smooth.
  • Stir in the dill, chives, lemon juice, lemon zest, capers, and minced red onion.
  • Gently fold in the finely chopped smoked salmon, being careful not to overmix.
  • Season the dip with black pepper and an optional pinch of cayenne pepper, then taste and adjust seasonings.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally 1-2 hours, to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Before serving, give the dip a quick stir and garnish with dill or a lemon slice. Serve with your preferred dippers.

Notes

For best results, allow the dip to chill for at least an hour to truly deepen the flavors. This dip is incredibly versatile and pairs well with a variety of dippers, including cucumber slices for a low-carb option.
