  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 packet (or 2 tablespoons homemade) Taco Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 12-18 Taco Shells (hard or soft)
  • 1 head (or bag) Shredded Lettuce
  • 2-3 Roma Tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream

Optional Toppings/Add-ins

  • Salsa for serving
  • 1/2 small Onion, diced
  • 1/2 small Jalapeño, diced (for a spicy kick)
  • 1 can (15 oz) Black Beans, rinsed and drained (for bean boost)

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, then brown the ground beef, breaking it up until no pink remains.
  • If desired, add diced jalapeño and onion during the last few minutes of browning, then drain any excess grease thoroughly.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet and stir in taco seasoning and water, along with black beans if using.
  • Bring to a simmer, reduce heat, and cook for 5-7 minutes until the liquid evaporates and flavors meld; adjust seasoning as needed.
  • While the beef simmers, warm taco shells according to package directions, typically by baking or microwaving.
  • Spoon a generous amount of seasoned ground beef into each warm taco shell.
  • Allow everyone to customize their tacos with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa.

Notes
